Easter
Hope everyone had a great Easter. We had an excellent time worshiping with a group of house churches that got together to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord. Then we had a great lunch with the members of our house church. It was a wonderful day.
Something that God has been teaching me that ties in perfectly with this season is the issue of salvation. I feel that sometimes we are prone to dwell on the fact that Christ saved us from death and eternal seperation from God. As true (and important) as this fact is, we do an injustice to His work on the cross when we minimize or leave out altogether the fact that there is another side to that coin. Christ gave his blood so that we could have new birth into an inheritance imperishable, unfading and undefiled (1 Peter 1:4). God loved us so much that he sent Christ to die so that if we believe in him we will live forever with Him as man was created to do(John 3:16). What an awesome thing to know that we are now free to live as we were created to!!!!! Yes, death has been conquered. But more importantly, we have been remade into the image of the firstborn Son of God to live as true men and women rather than the life we lived before which was shadowed by death.
